With just a few games remaining in the 2013-14 regular season and the playoffs fast approaching for the Toronto Raptors, it’s understandable that they want Amir Johnson to take as much time as he needs to make sure he’s ready for the postseason.
Apparently, Johnson has had enough time to recover from his ankle injury as it’s expected the forward will return against the New York Knicks on Friday night.
Amir went through a light practice today. Likely to go tomorrow, but they will continue to err on side of caution
If there is any type of setback or Johnson doesn’t feel completely right, he’ll sit out as the Raptors aren’t in the mood to risk any further injury, but it appears everything is okay as we speak and Johnson should see the court Friday.
Currently, the Toronto Raptors are tied with the Chicago Bulls for the Eastern Conference’s third seed.
Remaining there would likely allow them to play either the Washington Wizards or Charlotte Bobcats. Dropping to the fourth seed would presumably match them up with the Brooklyn Nets.
