NFL Rumors: Ndamukong Suh to skip Lions voluntary offseason workouts

The Detroit Lions will be without defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh this offseason as the Pro Bowler has elected to skip offseason workouts — at least those of the voluntary variety. Suh is currently trying to get a new contract from the Lions and many believe that’s the reason for his refusal to show up at country workouts.
New Lions head coach Jim Caldwell didn’t hide the fact that he’s not surprised by the move, but he didn’t fawn over Suh’s decision either.
"“It certainly didn’t blindside me,” said Caldwell. “We knew. He and I probably have had more discussions than any other player we have on the team. He’s been in and out (of the facility). He was actually around a couple of days when I came to visit. So we kind of knew exactly what was going on.”"
It’s no secret that contract talks between the Lions and Suh could get gory very fast. While the Lions are looking for the best deal possible, Suh is looking for the biggest one possible as almost everyone else in the NFL is in unison that his talents require that.
We won’t know what Suh is being valued at until the Lions start making numbers public but for the time being, the only thing we do know is that Suh will not be showing up to Lions camp if he doesn’t have to and even then he’s no lock to show up when it is.
