Stephen Colbert replaces Dave Letterman: Twitter reacts

On Thursday, CBS confirmed that Stephen Colbert, host of “The Colbert Report” on Comedy Central, will be replacing David Letterman as the host on “The Tonight Show.” As soon as the news broke, social media was buzzing with mixed reactions about whether or not Colbert will be able to fill the big vacancy left by the longtime host.

Plenty of people gave their overwhelming support to the move, while others were a bit more skeptical about Colbert’s satirical nature going over well with a bigger audience.

Regardless of what people may feel, Colbert is ready to take the next step.

“I’m thrilled and grateful that CBS chose me. Now, if you’ll excuse me, I have to go grind a gap in my front teeth,” Colbert said in the official press release.
