Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tomas Vokoun is currently in the AHL on a conditioning stint as he attempts to return from a blood-clot issue that was discovered last year. However, though he is hoping to work his way back to the Penguins lineup in time for the playoffs, it seems as if he is on his final ride in the NHL.
“When we talked back in January, I told them I’m open-minded,” Vokoun said about a return. “Regardless of what happened, I was 90 percent sure it was going to be my last season anyway.”
If it does turn out to be the last hurrah for the 37-year old Vokoun, he will finish his career with 300 wins in 700 games with Montreal (one game), Nashville, Florida, Washington and Pittsburgh.
