Meet Director Gareth Edwards in New Featurette for Godzilla (Video)

Earlier today, we showed you a new poster for the upcoming giant monster flick Godzilla that took the King of Monsters back to his roots. Now, we have a look at a new featurette for the film that goes behind the camera with Godzilla director Gareth Edwards.

In the featurette, Edwards talks a little bit about his start in film, and how things didn’t exactly go according to plan.

“I thought I’d do the obvious thing, you know…you go to film school, you make a film, and then Hollywood’s going to call you, and then you go make feature films.” He said. “It didn’t kind of turn out like that.”

He then talks about how he decided to learn how to do visual effects for a movie, which he thought would get him making features in about a year. Actually, it ended up taking him ten.

Thankfully, he did break into film and is now making when seemingly looks like a pretty amazing version of one of the most iconic giant monster films of all time.
