The Tampa Bay Buccaneers don’t seem to be in the market for a running back this draft but they do seem to have a certain level of interest in Florida State Seminoles running back James Wilder Jr. While the Bucs already have Doug Martin, Bobby Rainey and Mike James on the depth chart, there is always room for healthy competition and all doors are open in this new Lovie Smith regime.
According to Roy Cummings from the Tampa Times, the Buccaneers worked out Wilder Jr., something that fans will recognize as notable for obvious reasons.
RB Prospect and former Plant High star James Wilder Jr. says he worked out for the Bucs today. Says he improved his draft stock

It’s not that the Buccaneers are jumping at Wilder, but it’s significant in that James Wilder Jr’s father played many years for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and remains one of the more well respected and well liked players from the Buccaneers often shoddy past.
There could be interest in Wilder Jr, as he’s a true talent coming out of Florida State, but this may have been more about bringing things full circle as seeing Wilder Jr work out for his father’s team so many years later was a cool site to see.
