There is still some hope in Green Bay that Matt Flynn can be re-signed, but it’s not an issue that the Packers are spending countless hours debating. At the end of the day, Flynn is a decent option but the team seems to be sold on Scott Tolzein and may not be all that upset if another team is interested in Flynn.

It’s probably a good thing the Packers feel that way as according to Ralph Vacchiano from the New York Daily News, the New York Giants have reached out to Flynn with interest in signing him.

Teams reaching out to a player automatically signals an interest to sign said player, but the level of interest is always hard to read. It could be just exploratory or it could be a serious attempt to give a guy a contract.

With the Giants and Flynn, it’s hard to get a read on where they are with interest but it makes sense that they’re calling him. Josh Freeman was called earlier in the day which now proves that the Giants are very much in the market for a backup quarterback.
