Marvel fans are going to be in an interesting position very soon. As you know, a well-known character in the Marvel Universe is going to be portrayed on the big screen in two separate movies by two separate actors. While each of them bring their own style to the character, it is definitely interesting to see the differences between the two. Of course, the character in question is the speedy Quicksilver.
We have already seen what Marvel has envisioned for him in Avengers: Age of Ultron, as he will be played by Kick-Ass actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson. Now, thanks to the good people over at Entertainment Weekly, we have a look at what the young mutant will look like when he graces our screens on the upcoming X-Men: Days of Future Past.
As some of you may already know, Quicksilver will be played by American Horror Story actor Evan Peters in Days of Future Past. The reason for the change is simple. Marvel Studios does not own the film rights to the X-Men series, as that was sold to Twentieth Century Fox, so while they are allowed to use the character itself, they are not allowed to crossover like they usually do in their films. This is not to knock either actor playing the role, simply a contractual agreement.
Speaking to EW, X-Men writer/producer Simon Kinberg explained their vision for Quicksilver in Days of Future Past.
“The way we conceived him is a sort of an ADD kid,” Kinberg tells EW. “Everything he does is just popping and zipping around. He doesn’t take anything seriously. He’s not in a situation for more than a few seconds. So it infused the movie with an energy that was really useful for us.”
Keeping this in mind, let’s take a look at the latest photo of Quicksilver from X-Men: Days of Future Past courtesy of Entertainment Weekly.
