It was a huge day for the North Carolina Tar Heels.
After landing 3-star offensive tackle William Sweet earlier in the day, the Tar Heels got a commitment from 3-star athlete Carl Tucker on Saturday.
“The coaches (at North Carolina) are awesome,” Tucker told Tom Loy of 24/7 Sports. “They’re easy to get along with. I know they can coach me. I know they do well. They’re intense, loud, exciting, and they know how to have fun sometimes.”
The 6’1, 225-pound Tucker is from Concord, North Carolina and attends William Amos Hough High School.
Tucker is ranked as the 22nd best athlete prospect, the 15th best overall prospect in the state of North Carolina regardless of position and the 346th best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Tucker chose the Tar Heels over offers from the Clemson Tigers, East Carolina Pirates, Penn State Nittany Lions and Tennessee Volunteers, among others.
He becomes the Tar Heels’ eighth commitment in the class of 2015, joining Sweet, 4-star tight end Chris Clark, 4-star offensive tackle Mason Veal, 3-star quarterback Anthony Ratliff, 3-star safety Ronnie Harrison, 3-star inside linebacker Andre Smith and 3-star cornerback Corey Bell.
