The North Carolina Tar Heels went south into the talent rich state of Florida to get their latest commitment in the class of 2015.
On Saturday, 3-star offensive tackle William Sweet gave his pledge to the Tar Heels.
“It’s a special place and the coaches are incredible,” Sweet told Tom Loy of CarolinaBlue.com. “The staff will make me a better player and [offensive line] Coach [Chris] Kapilovic will get the most out of me.”
The 6’5, 270-pounder is from Jacksonville, Florida and attends First Coast High School (First Coast has several big time prospects including 4-star quarterback DeAndre Johnson, a Florida State Seminoles’ commit and 4-star outside linebacker Sherrod Pittman, a South Carolina Gamecocks’ commitment).
Sweet is ranked as the 42nd best offensive tackle prospect, the 39th best overall prospect in the state of Florida regardless of position and the 330th best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Sweet chose the Tar Heels over offers from the Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators and Florida State Seminoles, among others.
