The Tennessee Volunteers continue to roll on the recruiting trail.
On Saturday, 3-star running back Rocky Reid committed to Tennessee, giving the Volunteers their 11th commitment in the class of 2015.
“I chose Tennessee because of the education and because it’s a great school,” Reid told Ryan Bartow of 247 Sports Saturday afternoon. “I like the tradition of their football program.”
The 6’0, 220-pound Reid is from Concord, North Carolina and attends Concord High School.
It was a hotly contested battle. Reid narrowed it down to three schools but in the end, he chose the Volunteers.
“Georgia Tech finished second and Wisconsin was third for me,” Reid said.
Reid is ranked as the 79th best running prospect, the 34th best prospect in the state of North Carolina regardless of position and the 869th best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
Reid chose the Volunteers over offers from the Yellow Jackets, Badgers and several others, including the Arkansas Razorbacks, East Carolina Pirates, Louisville Cardinals and West Virginia Mountaineers.
