Former Louisville player Kevin Ware transferring to Georgia State

The Louisville career of former Cardinals player Kevin Ware is officially over as he’s now picked a new school where he’ll pick up his collegiate career. According to ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, Ware will be transferring to Georgia State after mutually parting ways with Rick Pitino and the Louisville Cardinals earlier this season.

Per ESPN.com:

Kevin Ware is headed closer to home and will transfer to Georgia State, he confirmed in a text message to ESPN.com.

Look for Ware to also seek a waiver from the NCAA to be able to play immediately since his family lives in Georgia.

Ware become known throughout the sports world during the 2013 NCAA Tournament when he violently broke his foot in a such a nasty fashion that it almost appeared as though his foot was twisting off. He has since rehabbed and was ready to play for Louisville this season but parted ways with the school when his role became diminished.

At Georgia State, Ware will be closer to his family and will be afforded a better chance to play and redeem himself from the nasty injury that made him famous.
