The Miami Dolphins are seemingly in the market for a running back despite having already signed Knowshon Moreno and touting as many as three other running backs on their roster. But while they’re working out rookie running backs like James White and Tre Mason ahead of the draft, there doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of interest in brining in Chris Johnson to Miami.
According to James Walker from ESPN.com, the ship has sailed on Johnson and the Dolphins and whatever interest there was from Miami in the former Titans back has evaporated over a short period of time.
There was a time when the Dolphins were reportedly interested, but the addition of Moreno changes things. The Dolphins already signed Moreno to a $3 million contract. I can’t see them investing another $4-$6 million per year on another running back to secure Johnson. Drafting a running back after the first round is more of a possibility.
Miami will likely be adding another running back in the draft, given their workout schedules, but whoever they add it will not be Chris Johnson.
