Steve Spurrier and the South Carolina Gamecocks hit the field inside Williams-Brice Stadium on Saturday for their annual spring scrimmage, and for the second year in a row, there was a touchdown scored from an unlikely source.
Last season, Spurrier surprised everyone when he had the phenom Jadeveon Clowney rush off the sidelines to grab a touchdown pass, and this year it was women’s head basketball coach Dawn Staley.
Watch here as Staley grabs herself the score off the pass from starting QB Dylan Thompson:
After the catch, Staley celebrated with the team.

It has been a wild couple weeks for Staley. Although they ultimately didn’t end up winning the NCAA Women’s Tournament that wrapped up this past week, she and her team did enter the field as the top seed in the Stanford Region after a successful 2014 regular season.
Now she’s on the field being coached by Steve Spurrier, catching a touchdown pass from the team’s starting quarterback.
Leave it up to the Ol’ Ball Coach to draw this up.
