In the ever increasing world of college basketball transfers, the most exclusive commodity has become established, high-end players who have completed their degree at one school and have a final season of eligibility when they hit the market. For the second time in a week, there is a player who fits this description, as Xavier Musketeers forward Justin Martin is set to transfer.
Xavier announces that forward Justin Martin will transfer for his final season of eligibility. Can play immediately at next stop.

Before Martin’s announcement, Michigan big man Jon Horford announced his intentions, and now, he’ll have a partner in availability. The 6-foot-6 Martin had a very nice season during his redshirt junior year with Xavier, averaging 11.7 points and 5.2 rebounds per game, and there is already a long list of high-profile programs who could be interested in his services.
At this point, it is far too early to speculate on specific situations for Martin, but versatile players who are established double-digit scorers in real conferences are hard to come by. Because it is a bit easier to find scoring wings than it is to snatch up quality bigs, Horford may be the more coveted piece, but in the case of Martin, he will certainly not be short on options.
