While we get set for what should be an exciting episode of “Game of Thrones” on Sunday night, Kit Harrington, who portrays Jon Snow on the HBO hit series, gave a little look ahead to the series and shared some insight on what we can expect from his character moving forward.
In an episode with Zap2it, Harrington expressed his desire to have Snow emerge as a leader, but first Jon Snow will need to overcome his own personal battles before what could turn out to be a cold ending.
“What I want to do with Jon is that he can’t be a hero straight away, and that’s what the writers are doing as well. He has to learn. I think this season he really starts learning. He starts being able to control his temper more, which he’s not been so good at in the past,” Harrington said.
We should expect to see more growth and development in Snow’s character as the season progresses, but could he be heading down a dark path?
“I think the biggest development that’s ever happened to him happens at the end of this season. There’s a specific scene at the end of this season where you see a real coldness in him, and that comes from various things that have happened this season—not least by the start of the season where we learn that his whole family is dead,” Harrington added.
“He really chooses his side and grows up in a way where there’s no sentimentality left. I think he’s been quite sentimental in the past about things, but this season, there’s no fucking around with it. By the end, he’s a cold person. ”
It is going to be interesting to see what the next step is for Snow, but as we have seen with Arya Stark in the season four premiere, it is only a matter of time until every one in “Game of Thrones” makes the transition to becoming a cold character.
