Kurt Coleman is officially now a former Philadelphia Eagle as he has agreed to terms to join the Minnesota Vikings, days after visiting with the NFC North club.

Coleman, 25, has played all four years of his NFL career with the Eagles since they took him in in the seventh round of the 2010 draft out of Ohio State. He made 27 starts at free safety from 2011-2012 but did not start any of the 15 games he appeared in last season.

Considering the Eagles have questions in their secondary, letting Coleman walk can be a damming sign that Coleman is nothing more than a special teams contributor or injury replacement at this point of his career.

The Vikings are banking on a change of scenery helping out Coleman get back to the player who was at least good enough to start for two years in a row, even if he did have his shortcomings in coverage.

Financial terms of the deal were not immediately available.
