The biggest question surrounding the Arizona Wildcats football program going into the 2014 season in who will be under center at starting quarterback this August. A lot of people thought that question would have been answered at the Wildcats’ spring game this past Saturday, however as head coach Rich Rodriguez pointed out, the four-way battle is far from over and a decision won’t be made until fall camp.
“I’m not being coy,” Rodriguez said after the spring game, seeming just a bit coy. “But I wanna see what they do in August and throughout the whole summer.”
Right now, the fight for the starting job is down to USC transfer Jesse Scroogins, Texas transfer Connor Brewer, LSU transfer Jerrard Randall and redshirt freshman Anu Solomon. None of the four mentioned really did much of anything in the game over the weekend to separate themselves from the pack, creating quite the intriguing storyline for the Arizona football program throughout this upcoming summer.
It takes a lot to run to type of offense that Rodriguez demands, so every little aspect of this battle counts in the coming months ahead.
