In what was thought to be just a sprained knee for Toronto Blue Jays’ infielder Maicer Izturis, turned out to be something a little more serious.
Knee injuries are something that every professional athlete would love to avoid. I’ve suffered a couple of them in my days as a football player and I can tell you first hand, that they suck. And I still haven’t completely recovered from them, which makes them at least 13 year old injuries.
But professional athletes are provided with some of the best care, so they tend to get over them a little easier than most. Now according to Shi Davidi on Twitter, Izturis is expected to miss four-six months after it was revealed that he suffered a ligament tear in his left knee.

It’s a complete LCL tear in his left knee. He injured himself after tripping down the dugout stairs.
