Report: Clemson QB Chad Kelly escorted off the practice field by police Monday

Just two days after their spring game, one of the starting quarterback hopefuls for the Clemson Tigers, Chad Kelly, was apparently escorted off the practice field by police earlier on Monday, Scout.com is reporting.

Kelly, along with currently injured freshman DeShaun Watson and Cole Stoudt were battling it out for the starting job to take over for the recently departed Tajh Boyd, although now it appears that Kelly’s chances are near non-existent at this point. As far as what caused the arrest and removal from the field Monday, Scout is also reporting that it’s stemming from some sort of alleged incident that took place on Saturday night.

As more if this situation develops, we will update as soon as possible, but for now it seems that the Clemson battle could be headed for a two-man race.

The “alleged incident” seems to be a hit-and-run accident on Saturday night where Kelly had borrowed another Clemson student’s car.
