Clemson Tigers dismiss Chad Kelly

It has not been a good couple of days for Clemson Tigers’ quarterback Chad Kelly.

First, he got into an altercation with a coach during the Tigers’ spring game on Saturday and was benched for the remainder of the team’s annual scrimmage.

Then, on Monday, a report surfaced that Kelly had been escorted out of the West End Zone by university police.

Now, according to Roy Philpott of CUTigers.com, Kelly has been dismissed from the team.

Kelly, a redshirt sophomore, was expected to battle true freshman Deshaun Watson, who enrolled early but suffered a collarbone injury, and Cole Stoudt for the starting quarterback position.

Kelly completed 10 of 17 passes for 58 yards last season.
