Chicago Cubs right-handed reliever Kyuji Fujikawa is trying to battle his way back after undergoing Tommy John surgery last season in his first year in the Major Leagues.
It was tough to get over the fact that one of our promising free agents would be shelved for the rest of the year and half of this season after going under the knife. And just when we thought maybe Fujikawa was over the hill, he may have suffered a set-back today during his extended Spring Training appearance.
According to Phil Rogers on Twitter, Fujikawa called the trainer to the mound and left afterwards.

Chicago’s bullpen is in desperate need of arms who can hold a lead and keep their team in the game. So far this year, the bullpen has been absolutely hammered by opposing bats, so something’s gotta give. At least I hope.
Fingers are crossed as of now, but this can’t be great news.
