Phoenix Suns say Goran Dragic will play through ankle injury

Despite spending the vast majority of the 2013-14 season shocking the NBA community by sitting in the midst of the Western Conference playoff race, the Phoenix Suns now sit on the outside looking in.

Currently a game out of the eighth and final spot playoff spot in the Western Conference, the Suns say point guard Goran Dragic will play through his ankle injury.

Hornacek said Dragic’s ankle is still sore but “he’s going to play no matter how it feels at this point.” #SunsVsGrizz

The Suns face a must-win game against the Memphis Grizzlies on Monday evening as it’s the Grizzlies who own that final playoff spot ahead of the Suns. A loss in either of their final two games will eliminate the Suns from playoff contention.

Memphis meanwhile, holds the tiebreaker over the Suns given their current 3-0 season series lead and in effect hold a two-game lead over the Suns will just two games remaining.

If the Suns are eliminated from playoff contention, it’s possible Dragic will sit out their season finale against the Sacramento Kings.
