Report: 2014 NFL Schedule release planned for April 22

NFL fans have been wondering when and where their teams will be playing games this upcoming season but we hadn’t yet heard an official release date for the schedule. Typically, the schedule is announced to the public in the middle of April, a week or so before the draft and now that the draft has been moved to May, the schedule release has been pushed back as well.

According to Pro Football Talk, the schedule is tentatively set to be released on April 22nd but that’s not a date that is yet set in stone. Florio’s report isn’t coming directly from an official statement, rather a source within the league office.

Per Mike Florio:

Per a source with knowledge of the situation, the NFL currently plans to release the schedule on Tuesday, April 22.

The unveiling of the schedule could be shifted to Wednesday, April 23 or Thursday, April 24.  For now, though, the plan is to pull the sheet off the 256-game slate on Tuesday.

The other dates mentioned are just as possible at this point since nothing has been made official by the NFL but it’s a safe bet to assume that it’s one of those days. Either way, it appears that the release of the 2014 NFL schedule is right around the corner and our wait is almost over.
