It’s time for Mark Ellis to make his debut with the Cardinals.

Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reports that the Cardinals are activating the 36-year old from the 15-day DL and sending Pete Kozma down to Triple-A. Ellis was on the DL coming out of Spring Training, dealing with left knee patella tendinitis. He had been on rehab assignment in the minors and St. Louis feels like he’s ready to go.

Ellis, an 11-year veteran, signed a one-year contract to play second base in front of Kolton Wong. Last year, with the Dodgers, Ellis hit .270/.323/.351 while being an everyday second baseman.
