On Tuesday, Dan Mullen and the Mississippi State Bulldogs added their 10th commitment when 3-star athlete Deddrick Thomas committed to the Bulldogs.
“I made a commitment today,” Thomas told 247Sports on Tuesday afternoon. “I’ve committed to Mississippi State. I was just thinking, the receivers, they’re losing a lot this year and it could be early playing time for me and it’s close to home and I just felt good about it.”
The 5’9, 170-pounder attends Memphis Central High School in Tennessee.
Thomas visited Mississippi State on April 6 and enjoyed everything he saw.
“The reason I chose Mississippi State was everything,” he said. “There were a lot of factors. Everything is improving. Coach Mullen is making moves in the right direction and they’ve got a good electrical engineering program to help me with my focus.”
Thomas is rated as an athlete and will likely be a slot receiver. He is ranked as the 36th best athlete prospect, the 18th best overall prospect in the state of Tennessee and the 573rd best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
He chose the Bulldogs over offers from the Cincinnati Bearcats, Duke Blue Devils and Memphis Tigers, among others.
