The Kentucky Wildcats knew they had a gem in 3-star cornerback Montrell Custis.
Unfortunately for Mark Stoops’ bunch, the Alabama Crimson Tide figured that out, too.
Custis took an official visits to Tuscaloosa over the weekend and on Monday night, he decided to flip his commitment from the Wildcats to the Tide.
“I’m blessed and honored to have the opportunity to go to Alabama,” Custis said Monday evening when reached by cellphone via Derrick Mahone of The Clayton News-Daily. “Kentucky has a great coaching staff, and I feel it is a great program.”
The 6’0, 175-pound Custis committed to the Wildcats back in November.
Custis is from Hampton, Georgia and attends Lovejoy High School.
Custis is ranked as the 58th best cornerback prospect, the 61st best over prospect in the state of Georgia and the 689th best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings. Custis is a 3-star prospect in the composite rankings, but is listed as a 4-star prospect by 24/7 Sports.
Custis also had offers from the Auburn Tigers and Clemson Tigers, among others.
