Former Duke QB Brandon Connette visiting Fresno State

Former Duke Blue Devils quarterback Brandon Connette is currently looking for a new home, and that journey will be taking him to Fresno State for a visit with the Bulldogs community, more than likely making him the instant front runner to take over for Derek Carr, according to CBS Sports.

After recording a school-record 27 touchdowns last season, Connette decided to transfer out of Duke so he can go back out to the west coast so he can be closer to his mother who is having a brain tumor removed.

Fresno State would make sense as not only is the quarterback position up for grabs, but the Bulldogs’ campus is only about a four-hour drive from his home.

As far as a fit in the offense, though, Connette certainly has the tools, plus he brings a dual-threat dimension to the offense that Carr didn’t in his time there, giving the Bulldogs what they need to get over the hump possibly and take the Mountain West title that eluded them last year.
