Game of Thrones season 5 to begin filming in August this year in Northern Ireland

HBO recently announced that “Game of Thrones” has been renewed for two more seasons, which means the show will be returning for seasons five and six. Questions will now begin to surface about when production for the upcoming season will begin, and we have that answer.

“Game of Thrones” season five will begin in August and run through November. One of the first locations that will be filmed is in Northern Ireland, which has become a very popular backdrop in past seasons.

The settings for House Stark, Castle Black and Kingsroad have all been filmed in Northern Ireland, so we will once again get to see the beautiful backdrops in the upcoming season.

With filming just a few months away, fans are going to have a once in a lifetime opportunity to join the “Game of Thrones” set for the filming of season five, where they will get a first look at some of the action and a one hour meeting with the show’s co-creator David Benioff.

For your chance to win the dream trip, head on over to the auction site on Charitybuzz to place your bids through Wednesday, April 30.

The auction will benefit Epic Theatre Ensemble.
