On Tuesday morning, GLORY World Series announced the signing of Canadian middleweight Simon “Bad Bwoy” Marcus, who is considered by many to be the top pound-for-pound kickboxer in North America.
“Marcus is an incredibly exciting talent who has been on the GLORY radar for some time,” GLORY Matchmaker and Head of Talent Operations Cor Hemmers said in the official press release. “He joins a middleweight division which has all the world’s top fighters at this weight. We look forward to some exciting fights from Marcus over the coming year.”
GLORY recently announced their pay-per-view debut would be coming on June 21 in Los Angeles, California, with a one-night tournament featuring eight fighters in the middleweight division.
With the upcoming tournament, you would have to imagine Marcus will be one of the eight competitors in the field for the pay-per-view event.
If he is to join the eight-man tournament in June, he would have the opportunity to meet Joe Schilling, who won the four-man tournament at GLORY 10 Los Angeles, for the third time in his career.
UPDATE: GLORY quickly made it very clear that Marcus will be making his promotional debut in the middleweight tournament:

The two have previously met twice under Muay Thai rules, with Marcus winning the bouts by decision and by stoppage.
A best case scenario for GLORY would be to have the two men meet in the final for the third time in their careers with the GLORY middleweight title on the line.
Below is the field of fighters currently announced for the June 21 tournament:
- Joe Schilling (Ranked No. 2 in Glory)
- Wayne Barrett (Ranked No. 4 in Glory)
- Alex Pereira (Ranked No. 6 in Glory)
- Melvin Manhoef (Debut)
- Simon Marcus (Debut)
- Bogdan Stoica (Debut)
