Right now, Carmelo Anthony is listed as “questionable” for the New York Knicks next game against the Brooklyn Nets. It would seem that Knicks coach Mike Woodson has answered the question.
Anthony wasn’t at the Knicks’ shoot-around because he was being evaluated by the team’s medical staff for his ailing right shoulder. But regardless of the outcome of those results, it doesn’t look like fans will get to see Melo again this season according to a report from the New York Daily News.
“No, I would probably shut him down. He don’t need to play. I’m (going to) tell him, ‘you’re not gonna play.’ That’s what I’m gonna do.”
So I guess that settles it.
Anthony had already announced that he plans to opt out of his contract with the Knicks after the season and test the free agency market. Looks like Woodson is giving him a head start on the rest of the crowd.
