NBA Playoffs 2014: Warriors center Andrew Bogut out indefinitely

The NBA Playoffs tip off this Saturday but when they do it looks like the Golden State Warriors will be without center Andrew Bogut fro the duration of their run. While a return to the lineup is still possible, Bogut has been ruled out indefinitely by the Dubs and will likely not be participating in postseason play this year.

Per Marc J. Spears:

Bogut said he’s been advised the rib is too close to his right lung for him to play through the pain because he would risking puncturing the lung. He originally suffered the injury against the Denver Nuggets on Thursday and it became worse in Sunday’s overtime loss to the Portland Trail Blazers. He took a pain killer before Sunday’s game, but the injury worsened in the fourth quarter.

The blow isn’t a fatal one for the Dubs but it hardly helps things. They’re getting hot, especially after a ruckus win over the Timberwolves on Monday night, but they’re still limping into playoffs in more than one way and it could be s short stay this time around.
