The New York Jets apparently really like former Tennessee Titans running back Chris Johnson and the feeling appears to be mutual. After spending all of Tuesday in New York meeting with the Jets and familiarizing himself with the city, Chris Johnson has spoken out on his visit and noted that the time isn’t right to sign.

Johnson didn’t bash the Jets but he did say that he needs time to think about his future and isn’t rushing to sign with the team.

This very likely could be code for the Jets aren’t offering him enough money, as the market for Johnson isn’t what you’d define at white hot at the moment. Still, there appears to be growing mutual interest between the Jets and Johnson and that could result in a deal in the very near future — just the immediate future.
