On Tuesday, the Baylor Bears got a commitment from one of the fastest players in the country when 3-star wide receiver John Humphrey gave his pledge to the Bears.
Just a day later, the Bears got someone to open holes and protect the quarterback so players like Humphrey can make plays.
3-star offensive tackle Sam Tecklenburg gave his pledge to the Bears on Wednesday.
“Yes sir, I committed to Baylor,” Tecklenburg told Brian Ehtridge of 24/7 Sports. “Coach Gush and Coach Clements came to practice today and they offered after.” And a decision was made soon after? “Yes sir. Baylor presented the biggest opportunity to me for team success. There’s no better school to be at a time like this in my eyes.”
Tecklenburg chose the Bears over offers from the Arkansas State Red Wolves, Connecticut Huskies, Nevada Wolfpack, SMU Mustangs and Texas Red Raiders, among others.
He becomes the eighth player in the class of 2015 to give his pledge to the Bears, joining Humphrey, 4-star wide receiver Chad President, 4-star running back JaMycal Hasty, 4-star offensive tackle Maurice Porter, 4-star athlete Blake Lynch and 3-star athlete Louis Brown, 3-star wide receiver Devontre Stricklin.
