The Syracuse Orange got their first commitment in the class of 2015 on Wednesday when 3-star running back Tyrone Perkins gave his pledge to the Orange.
Syracuse’s director of recruiting, Eric White, hinted at the commitment and then Mike McAllister of Scout.com confirmed it.
The 6’0, 190-pound Perkins is from Locust Valley, New York and attends Friends Academy.

J.C. Shurburtt of 24/7 Sports has more on Perkins.
After reviewing his film, the Orange may have gotten themselves a steal. Perkins is a great athlete (also a standout basketball player) and a natural running back with good feet and vision. He has been given an initial rating of 88 by 247Sports, which is a high 3-star, but as we learn more about him, he could move up.
Perkins is ranked as the 35th best running back prospect, the third best overall prospect in the state of New York and the 394th best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.
