WWE Studios has been on quite the roll lately. In theaters now is the new horror film Oculus starring Doctor Who alum Karen Gillan and Brenton Thwaites. Now, the studio, along with Lionsgate, are about to bring a horror icon back to life. The studios are working on a reboot to the iconic horror series Leprechaun, breathing new life into the franchise.
The film will star WWE Superstar Dylan Postl. Fans of the WWE Universe will better know him as Hornswoggle.
At this point and time, there are not a lot of details as to the story line of the film; whether or not they will stick to the premise of the original film or if they plan to make the film all their own.
The poster for the film is really simplistic, but more than enough to bring the original film back into the forefront of your minds.
Take a look for yourself. Here is a look at the new poster for the upcoming reboot Leprechaun Origins.
Leprechaun Origins is the first feature film effort from director Zach Lipovsky. He is definitely no stranger to horror films. He has done the visual effects for films like Itsy Bitsy Spiders, Monster, and Snakehead.
The screenplay for the film has been written by horror screenwriter Matt Venne and new screenwriter Harris Wilkinson.
The film stars WWE Superstar Dylan “Hornswaggle” Postl as the iconic Leprechaun himself. Leprechaun Origins also stars Brendan Fletcher, Andrew Dunbar, Teach Grant, Stephanie Bennett, and many more.
Leprechaun Origins is scheduled to be released in 2014.
