When it came to finding talent, Joe Dumars often succeeded for the Detroit Pistons. Unfortunately, Dumars issues stemmed from overpaying marginal free agents, a problem which likely attributed to his movement from general manger to ‘adviser’ which will take place starting this offseason.
So who’s to take over for Dumars atop the Pistons franchise? That remains to be seen, though a familiar name has emerged in the search according to ESPN’s Marc Stein who suggested that former star forward Grant Hill could be up for the job.
Pistons vowing broad search for Joe Dumars’ successor, but two names already in circulation to be on their list: Scott Perry and Grant Hill
Hill, who was drafted by the Pistons third overall in the 1994 NBA Draft spent six seasons in Motown before leaving to join the Orlando Magic.
His departure wasn’t exactly the most mutual and many fans still hold a bit of resentment towards the former Duke star for how the situation played out.
Hill, who has recently be hosting NBA’s Inside Stuff has no front office experience.
