NFL Rumors: New York Giants close to signing Josh Freeman
By Josh Hill
The last time that Josh Freeman played in an NFL game it was on a miserable Monday night against the New York Giants. The next time he steps foot on an NFL field it will be with the New York Giants, hopefully sans the miserable part.
According to NFL reporter Adam Caplan, the Giants and Freeman are hammering out details of a contract that will put the former Vikings and Buccaneers quarterback on the depth chart behind Eli Manning in 2014.
Freeman has been a shell of his once potentially awesome self as his Pro Bowl year in Tampa Bay seems like ancient history. He won’t be competing with Eli Manning for the starting gig — at least not in theory — but he has a chance to redeem himself and prove one final time that he’s not the slacker draft bust he’s looked like since 2011.
