The Columbus Blue Jackets and Pittsburgh Penguins face off in the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs on Wednesday night, and they could have a unique advantage over the rest of the teams in the Eastern Conference.

Columbus and Pittsburgh are the closest teams by location that have been matched up in the first round, so they will not have the vigorous travel schedule like some of their competitors to get the postseason rolling.

Whether or not that will play into their advantage and keep them fresh later down the road remains to be seen, but it will be something interesting to keep an eye on.
