The Anaheim Ducks won Game 1 against the Dallas Stars but they may have an uphill battle ahead of them thanks to a shot to the face that captain Ryan Getzlaf took off a Tyler Seguin one-timer.

Getzlaf was doing an incredibly job blocking shots throughout the night but the last one he stopped happened to bounce off the side of his face in the jaw area and the incident has Ducks fans very worried about his immediate future in this series.

It’s no i,possible to play with a broken jaw, but there’s no saying the league will allow him to do so nor would the Ducks willingly send him out there with that kind of injury. He’s already caught one puck to the face and another would be beyond devastating.

There’s no saying his jaw isn’t broken though as x-rays haven’t yet been released to the public. Still, if Getzlaf goes down for the rest of this series, Game 1 could very well embody the notion of losing the battle but winning the war for the Dallas Stars.
