Early Wednesday morning, QB Matt Joeckel announced that he would be transferring out from Texas A&M. On Thursday he visited the TCU Horned Frogs as he began his search for a new home, and apparently that visit was all he needed as he has announced that he will continue to play college football in the state of Texas for head coach Gary Patterson in Fort Worth.

Already having earned his degree, Joeckel will be eligible to play immediately this fall, and should have a legitimate shot to be the TCU starter when the season opens up. Recently, Patterson noted that he would be changing up the traditional, pro-style offensive system that the program has run under his watch to a more fast-paced, no huddle attack.
Having spent the last two years under Kevin Sumlin, this is something that the veteran back up Joeckel will be able to grasp immediately, instantly giving him the edge of the returning Trevone Boykin who is still just in the learning process.
