MLB Rumors: Jose Reyes to rejoin Toronto Blue Jays against Cleveland Indians

The Toronto Blue Jays didn’t receive good news regarding their closer Casey Janssen on Thursday morning, but they did get positive news in regards to their All-Star shortstop.

Jose Reyes, who’s been out for the past few weeks after suffering inflammation in his hamstring, is set to return to the Jays this weekend, most likely on Saturday against the Cleveland Indians.

There were rumors suggesting that Reyes could return even earlier, possibly as soon as Friday (which would have been before his ‘scheduled’ return date) but with poor weather forecast in Ohio, the Blue Jays want to wait as they don’t want to risk further injury to their shortstop.

Reyes is now expected to re-join the #BlueJays on Saturday. Weather not expected to be good in Cleveland tomorrow.

Reyes has a long history of hamstring issues and the last thing Toronto wants to do is put him in a position to either re-injure himself or create another set of problems by playing on a wet and muddy surface, so they’ll wait until the weather clears on Saturday before running him out there.
