When the Clevalnd Cavaliers acquired Spencer Hawes from the Phialdephia 76ers, not a whole lot was made about the move but it ended up going a lot better than the much bigger Loul Deng trade. While Hawes still isn’t on Deng’s level, it appears the Cavaliers have as much interest in re-signing him as they do Deng and that says a lot about how much Cleveland wants Hawes.
According to FoxSports Ohio’s Sam Amico, the Cavaliers ‘for sure’ want to re-sign Hawes this offseason.
Cavs C/F Spencer Hawes, an unrestricted free agent, says he’s very open to returning. “Yeah, for sure. It’s been a positive (experience).”

The move makes al to of sense and would mean that the Cavaliers have a big center to throw into their lineups each night. Coupled with a growing chemistry between Kyrie Irving and Dion Waiters, plus the addition of a lottery player this June means the Cavaliers could very well turn things around in 2014-15 and it could all start with the re-signing of Hawes.
