The Detroit Pistons were hopeful that the 2013-14 season would be a promising one that saw a return to the NBA’s postseason. But it wasn’t to be, despite the free agent signing of Josh Smith during the previous offseason.
Later, Monroe was asked if the Pistons had good locker-room chemistry this season, which ended Wednesday with a 112-111 loss at Oklahoma City.
“Honestly, I would say no,” he answered.
Pressed for what the problem was, Monroe retreated.
“I will answer the question,” he said, “but I wouldn’t go further than that.”
Not wanting to call out any of his teammates specifically, Monroe refused to go any further and it isn’t exactly breaking news that the Pistons locker room was a bit iffy, but the admission is still pretty painful.
You may recall, earlier in the season Brandon Jennings also called out his teammates, suggesting that nobody holds themselves accountable for their actions.
