The New York Knicks have been flirting with the idea of firing head coach Mike Woodson all season long, and they may be coming to a final decision this weekend. After months of tap dancing around the issue, the Knicks are expected to make a decision on Woodson’s future this weekend.

Per Marc Berman:

"Mike Woodson said he still hopes to talk to Phil Jackson about remaining as head coach next season, but wouldn’t say if he will help the Knicks team president conduct exit meetings Thursday and Friday with the players.Woodson said he’d like to find out his status “soon” and he likely will in the next 48 hours."

This doesn’t mean that Woodson will indeed be fired, but it’s also not a good sign that he’s being put on hold for the time being with his career hanging in the balance. There has been talk of Woodson possibly heading to the University of Indiana to take over the head coaching position but nothing is set in stone.

Either way, the Knicks have e decision to make on Woodson, one that has been put off for an entire season, and something major will happen one way or another.
