Ubisoft is set to release Watch Dogs next month, and they believe it will be one of the best-selling titles to release this year.
In speaking with MCV, the firm’s Wayne Greenwell said Watch Dogs will remain atop the charts throughout this summer.
“Excitement for the product remains incredibly high and gamers are desperate to finally get their hands on the title,” he said. “This is reflected in our pre-orders which are hugely promising for a new IP and highlights the enthusiasm that has surrounded the product since it was first unveiled to the world.”
Greenwell also mentioned that “with Watch Dogs, Ubisoft is building a new blockbuster brand to stand alongside other top tier triple-A titles and we expect it to be not only one of the best selling new IPs in recent memory, but also one of the best selling titles throughout 2014.”
The publisher will market the game through apps, live streams, TV, online and prints ads. They’ve also partnered with Shazam to do a TV and radio campaign.
Also when the game launches, Ubisoft will be partnering with the top YouTube and Twitch users who will be playing the game on launch day.
Watch Dogs releases on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One May 27. It will release for the Wii U sometime later down the road.
