In most horror movies these days, there is almost always an open door; somewhere that leads to the possibility of a sequel. We have seen it in all of the Paranormal Activity films, as well as films like Insidious and even the new horror film Oculus. It would seem that one of those open doors has finally been walked through. Production is about to get started on Sinister 2, and it appears that director Ciaran Foy will be filling the seat behind the camera.
The announcement was first made on Twitter by Scott Derrickson, who will be returning to pen the script for the film with C. Robert Cargill.

Foy is most well-known for his only feature length film to date, Citadel.
As he mentioned in his tweet, Derrickson, who actually directed the original Sinister film, will also be producing the film along with Jason Blum from Blumhouse Productions.
At this particular point and time, there have been no details released in regards to the plot line of the upcoming film or who they may be eyeing to star in the film; however, I am sure as things start to progress and they approach pre-production, we will begin to find out more and more about the direction the film will take.
