The UCLA Bruins have gotten off to an excellent start recruiting and picked up the sixth member of their 2015 class on Friday when 4-star offensive guard Tevita Halalilo committed to the Bruins.

“I chose UCLA because it is close to home,” Halalilo told Ryan Bartow of 24/7 Sports via J.C. Schurburtt. said. “My family can come to all of the games. I like the team, the academics and all of the coaches.”

Halalilo is the sixth prospect to give his pledge to the Bruins, joining 5-star quarterback Josh Rosen, 4-star tight end Aliz’e Jones, 4-star athlete Jaason Lewis, 3-star inside linebacker Victor Alexander and 3-star running back Bolu Olorunfunmi.

The 6’4, 315-pound Halalilo is from Moreno Valley, California and attends Rancho Verde High School. He is ranked as the 13th best offensive guard prospect, the 37th best overall prospect in the state of California and the 241st best overall prospect in the class of 2015, according to 24/7 Sports’ composite rankings.

Halalilo chose the Bruins over offers from the Arizona Wildcats, Arizona State Sun Devils, Colorado Buffaloes, Miami Hurricanes and Oregon State Beavers, among others.
