We are now under two months away from the King of Monsters returning to the big screen in the upcoming Godzilla reboot. On Tuesday, we showed you a new poster for the film that visits the monster’s heritage. Now, we have a look at a new featurette for the film that shows director Gareth Edwards discuss the film and taking its creation very seriously.
As Edwards says, it is very easy to dismiss Godzilla as a B-Movie; however, the original film is actually very serious, as it is more of an interpretation of the bombings that occurred at Hiroshima and Nagasaki.
His intention is to create a version of the film that is as realistic as possible. He also references the early works of Steven Spielberg where he was able to find the right balance of suspense in the film.
Go ahead and take a look for yourself. Here is a look at the latest featurette for the upcoming film Godzilla.
Godzilla also stars Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston, Juliette Binoche, Ken Wantanabe, Fifty Shades of Grey’s Victor Rasuk, Hawaii Five-O actor Richard T. Jones, and many more.
Godzilla is scheduled to be released in RealD 3D, IMAX 3D, and conventional theaters on May 16, 2014.
