Eleven minutes of bad James Harden defense (Video)

James Harden is the best shooting guard in the NBA.

That’s something that everyone knows. Everyone also now knows that he is one of the worst defending superstars we’ve seen in a long time thanks to an eleven minute video posted by Deadspin that compiles Harden’s worst defensive “highlights of the season”. One could mention Steve Nash, but even he attempted to play defense, just lacking the physical build to compete with some of the best athletes in the world.

But James Harden has that. There were glimpses here and there throughout the season that got a lot of publicity thanks to national televised games, but the flood gate of opinions on how bad a defender he is has opened thanks to this eleven minute long video of James Harden’s poor defense.

There are moments that are shocking: him not attempting to follow his man, keeping his eye strictly on the ball instead of on both the man and ball, a technique taught in the lowest levels of basketball, and just a compilation of poor effort that make someone like Kendall Marshall look like a star.

I can’t describe thee, so here you are. Enjoy, because it doesn’t get any worst than this:
